Description:
This micrometer is designed to measure the "root tangent length" of spur and helical gears. The determination of this length is detailed in the "Quick Guide to Accuracy Measuring Instruments" on page B-80. It features a non-rotating spindle type and has a measurable gear pitch range of module 0.5 to 6. Additionally, it is equipped with a constant force ratchet to ensure accurate and repeatable measurements.
